Najis Leather

Q: Salam and hope you are doing well. I have a question if you don’t mind

And I read this which not sure if you can approve it ( there is a link within this link to Seyed Sustani website)

Since many sofa or vehicle’s seats are made in China this may be applicable.

In case if the leather touched by wet hand….

A: Salamun Alaikum
Any leather not slaughtered in the way of Halal is najis.

If it comes in wet contact, it will make things najis too.
And tatheer, purification will be required.

Sofas, car seats, and many many products these days are made with man made leather, on which the rules of Halal, tazkiya etc do not apply. It is not real leather.

Check with the manufacturer and you can act accordingly.

If it is confirmed that the leather is animal leather and is being imported from a non Muslim land, it is najis.

Also, it is the wet contact that transfer the najasat.
Damp contact of socks in shoes etc… does not transfer najasat.
